Worship Ministry
In FBCMO’s Worship Ministry, we strive to lift Jesus up in all things. John 12:32 says, and this is Jesus speaking, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” Lifting Jesus up so that He may draw all people to himself is our aim every time we gather for worship.
There are several opportunities for service in the worship ministry, both behind the scenes and from the stage. The areas of service include, Praise Team, Band, Choir, ProP Team, Sound, and Videography.
Praise Team service is by audition only. Auditions are held once a year in July. To try out, a candidate must bring a song of choice to preform for the worship leader and lead instrumentalist. Afterwards, a series of test are preformed to see if you can pick up melody quickly, if you are able to sing a harmony, and sing with the worship leader. Additionally, we ask that you give us your salvation testimony and provide information about prior experience. A commitment to practice both Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings is required.
Band service is by audition only. Auditions are held on an as needed basis. To try out, the candidate will need to come prepared with a song of choice. They will be required to play along with the lead instrumentalist while the worship leader sings. They will also be tested to see how well they pick up on new music. Additionally, we ask that you give us your salvation testimony and provide information about prior experience. A commitment to practice both Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings is required.
Choir service is open to all year round at any time. No audition required. A commitment to practice Wednesday nights is highly recommended.
The ProP Team are the individuals who run our screens every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. No audition required but a basic knowledge of computers is encouraged. On the spot training is provided and required for service. Serving here is as easy as hitting the space bar. Service requirements are usually once monthly or less.
The Sound Team are those who run the sound for all the services. These individuals must be willing to serve on a rotating basis. On the spot training is provided and required for service. Individuals must have a good ear for sound, be detail oriented, and a problem solver.
Our Videography service is facilitated on Sunday mornings. Right now, we mainly use video for running Facebook Live to our homebound members. On the spot training is provided and required. Individuals must be willing to serve on a rotating basis.
